Vantan design Institute(VDI) held its Golden Week Seminar 2009
for three days in Tokyo and two days in Osaka between May 3rd and 5th.

There are many young people who want to build a career in the field of design.
It is, however, difficult to learn about various possibilities and choose
a particular profession.

The purpose of VDI's Golden Week Seminar was to give these youngsters
an opportunity to take a glimpse of what is in store for them
in some of the most popular design professions.

VDI's seminar offered various courses in Tokyo and Osaka
on areas including fashion design,fashion styling,fashion business,
hair styling, makeup, and interior design.
Professionals noted for their work in their areas of expertise
led the courses that included demonstrations as well as opportunities
for participants themselves to take part in the creative prosess.
They went outside the classroom to districts such as Shibuya
to conduct real-life research
and also gave a shot at photography to record their own creation.

Many of the participants struggled in the beginning
with a new task before them.
However, with the help of VDI students
who were present as the support staff,
they warmed up to the occasion
to enjoy their first attempt at being a design professional.



On the last day of the seminar, all of the participants were happy
that they had successfully completed the course.

they commented.

The seminar seems to have left a lasting impression on them.
