On Thursday, March 19, the final round of Japan Fur Association's design contest
was held in Tokyo under the auspices of Japan Fur Association (JFA).
Fur is an excellent material, warm, durable and completely biodegradable.
The purpose of this contest was to send a message that fur is eco;
its warmth will help to reduce our dependency on energy.
Another message is that the fur remains very fashionable.
So why not dress fashionably and contribute to the environment
at the same time ?
There were as many as 3,211 entries.
Our own Mr.Yohei Onuki, X-SEED graduate,
Mr. Ryosuke Nakagaki, X-SEED student and
Ms. Ayano Kohada, Fashion Design student, were among
the 28 finalists who took part in the final competition,
complete with a catwalk show.
Mr. Onuki won the best prize, and received a cash prize of \300,000
and an opportunity to study fur design in Denmark.
Mr. Nakagaki received the HKFF(Hong Kong International Fur & Fashion Fair)
prize, comprising of \50,000 in cash and an invitation to the International
Fur & Fashion Fair in Hong Kong.
▲Best Prize:Yohei Onuki ▲HKFF Prize:Ryoseke Nakagaki
It was a very close competition and the creative use of
fur demonstrated by the contestants received great review.
Vantan students have now won prizes four years in a row.
Hope that this record will continue.
